New Digital X-ray Machine!

We are very excited to announce the arrival of our new digital radiography unit. Our new Radincon DR machine means that we can take high quality digital images quickly and efficiently. These images can be written to digital media such as DVD or USB or sent via email. The digital technology not only produces superior image quality but also allows image enhancements such as contrast change and magnification to highlight specific areas of interest for more accurate diagnosis.

One of the many advantages of the new system is that it is portable. This means that it is no longer necessary to wait for images to be developed by a machine located at the practice. This allows for faster and more effective management of problems and therefore a more speedy recovery for the horse. All that we require to take X-rays on farm is an area where the horse can be adequately restrained such as a crush, a power supply, a firm level surface such as concrete and an undercover area so that our equipment is protected from the elements and so that images can be viewed clearly.

Hendra: information and vaccination

We recently hosted a Hendra virus information evening at the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre. The night was a great success with many members of the local equestrian community in attendance. Speakers for the evening were Dr Fielding, Dr Brigit Pitman and Dr Hilary Colwell.

The importance of Hendra to the area was extensively covered. For those that were unable to attend, more information can be found at:

Welcome to our new vet

We are pleased to welcome to Dr Hilary Colwell to our team. Hilary recently graduated from Charles Sturt University where her special interests were equine surgery and medicine.
